Low Cash Adventures
by Bryce Edmonds

So, you've picked up a free and excellent -- if I do say so myself -- entertainment newspaper. You've checked out the stories. You've read the reviews. You've gotten some expert sex advice. What's a person to do after all that?

Find out where you can get more free (or almost free) stuff of course. I mean come on, let's keep this ball rolling. No sense pulling out any hard-earned cash yet. Just stay tuned to the inaugural episode of Low Cash Adventures and off you'll go!

To celebrate this momentous occasion I've decided to give you something to celebrate with -- namely, beer. And damn good beer at that. "What's that," you say? "I believe I heard you mention free and beer in the same article? Is this some sort of cruel joke?" Indeed it isn't, and I'm here to tell you how you too can enjoy free beer. There is only one downside included in the small print, and that's that you must be at least 21. (Sorry kids. It will come soon enough.)

As you may or may not know, Colorado has lots of breweries from the very large to the very small. As you may or may not know, pretty much every brewery has free tours and, as you may or may not know, a free tour ends with...yes, say it with me, free beer. Amen.

The Idea:

Get together about 44 of your closest friends and a rent a bus -- we don't want anyone to have to drive for this tour. A "Boogie Bus" from Amica Bus Co. will cost you $895 or around $20 each. Go on Friday and you save $100 making it $18 each. (A standard coach from Ramblin Express is about $730.) Start early on a day you can all live with. Saturday is good but not all of the breweries are open. Everyone should bring some sort of food because this is going to be a long day.

Have the bus take you to Colorado Springs and hit Back Alley Brewing. Tour and drink. Back on the bus for the trip to Denver and stops at Lonetree and Great Divide. Tour and drink. Back on the bus and off to Coors -- not quite as personal, and you'll have to take a tour bus to get from the parking lot to the tour, but it is Coors. Tour and drink. Back in the bus and off to Boulder/Longmont for stops at Avery and Left Hand/Tabernash. Tour and, yes, drink. If you can find the bus, get back in for the trip to Fort Collins. Hit H.C. Berger and New Belgium. You know what to do.

By now, if you have sampled one of every beer at about 5 oz. per sample, you will have consumed at least 260 oz. of beer. That's 21.66 beers for a total of $20 without factoring in any food or extra beers you may have brought on the bus. My guess is that you'll run out of room (or consciousness) before they run out of beers. If you don't like my little group of breweries, then just hit the Internet and create your own outing. Stay with the bus though if you can to maximize fun.

And remember: When you're in need of an adventure and you're running low on jack, come to Go-Go and we'll make everything all better. Jobs are overrated anyway.
