The suit is making its total comeback in fashion these days. They're not longer just what you wear to the office, but you see them everywhere. Still, a good suit is a hard thing to find. Don't bother buying a suit if it doesn't fit right, said Corey Kemp, owner of The Bridge, a full service men's boutique on Broadway. The Bridge specializes in tailored suits. This doesn't have to mean that the suit is completely hand-made. Typically most men fit into a ready made suit. We just like to tailor the heck out of it, she explained. We'll adjust everything we need to give you the feel of a custom tailored suit. But the suit isn't where it ends. To make the look complete you'll also need the shoes, belt, shirt, tie ... even the socks can make a difference. And that's exactly what makes the difference between a tailoring boutique and a department store that sells suits. Any kind of shirt you want, they can find it, and if they can't find it, they'll have it made for you. About half of the customers at The Bridge get ready made suits and have them tailored; the other half have a suit custom made for them. The pricing on a custom suit varies immensely. Depending on the material we use, the price goes up, explained Corey. We work with a company that's been in business since 1897 ... they're all fourth generation suit makers. It might cost a bit to have a suit made like that, but the quality is definitely worth it. People who buy their suits here want an unique stylish look. Most of our customers are 25 and over and are starting to make money. They need to impress their boss, and of course their girlfriend. Men should be unafraid, like women, to dress in something nice and unique. People will notice when a guy dresses nice. It does make a difference and a suit is just really sexy. The Bridge is located on 1033 Broadway across from the Gart Brothers Sport Castle. Phone 720-932-7314 or 303-478-SUIT. photos by gary stefanski |
