STYLE

Belly Up to Style

You might not find a cosmopolitan martini on the menu, but Mixed Drinks is poised and ready to serve you up some cool and refreshing style. "Take two parts women, add one part men, and you have Mixed Drinks," said buyer Tina Heath.

The newest clothing shop on 13th Avenue, Mixed Drinks offers a combination of mature tech style with young and fresh labels.

"Mixed Drinks caters to young urban adults, clubers, and scooterists," said Thomas Heath, Mixed Drinks owner.

"We offer a more complete collection of clothing," added Tina, "by carrying several well known designers-- some of whom are difficult to find in Denver."

For a starter try Lithium, a label plucked from the Canadian runways, which fuses fashion and technology in its clothing. Modern fabrics wrap up the Lithium designs, for both men and women, in a sportswear look with a contemporary style.

Luscious clothing, also exported from Montreal, has become one of Canada's most recognized labels and is now avail-able at Mixed Drinks. Luscious, which started in 1996 as a t-shirt company, has moved into designing functional gear with clean lines and unconventional fabrics. "Unapologetically feminine," the motto and designs of Luscious are bringing sexy style back into women's street wear.

Also offered is Ben Sherman, the status label made famous in Britain in the '60s by mods and art school rockers. Although the designer himself died in 1987, Ben Sherman-- the label-- has found a new home on the backs of revived Brit Pops and OG Hip Hops. The signature but-ton down collar, back pleat and essential loop are all still in place on the classic oxford design, as well as the "mod god" attitude that has always surrounded this prestigious label.

Finish the whole look at Mixed Drinks by matching a set of sleek Ben Sherman loafers with your new Sherman ox, or take a stroll in a pair of the highly sought after Apocalyptic shoes, known for their creative and unique rubber 'soul'.

Mixed Drinks is an urban concoction of clean lines and designs, blended with function-oriented labels, and just a hint of trend. This is a fusion pop shop you surely do not want to miss.
