SUNSHINE ILLUMINATES CHERRY CREEK NORTH
Cherry Creek North offers an almost overwhelming bounty of elegant and
expensive niche shops. Storefront windows stack on
top of each other, blurring into an
endless sea of sequin-studded, gold-encrusted,
costly fare. However, amid the elite couture chaos of 3rd
Avenue sits a new attitude in the definition
of a Cherry Creek boutique--
Sunshine.
"People are really open to what we
do," said Sunne Pollart, owner of the
six-month-old Cherry Creek North
location. "We carry the style of
clothes that you have in your closet
for everyday wear."
Pollart opened the original Sunshine
in Boulder four years ago, and wanted
to open a second store in Denver.
Pollart deemed Cherry Creek a solid
shopping area and a good fit for
Sunshine. "We have a lower price
point than Cherry Creek is used to,"
Pollart said, "and I think that has
worked in our favor."
Unique to its neighborhood,
Sunshine provides shoppers with
trendy designs attached to a moderate
price tag. Men's and women's
clothing, select shoes, and a
charmed accessory corner-- all add
a colorful glow to the West Coast
styled shop. But the true treasure at
Sunshine is its vast selection of
denim.
"We try to do a little bit of everything,
but our main concentration is
on our jeans," Pollart said.
"Purchasing a pair of jeans is like
buying a bathing suit. We know our
denim and can fit someone in the
first two tries. We help to take the
pain out of the experience."
The boutique offers the denim
stylings of Diesel, Levis
Engineered, Levis Red, Miss Sixty,
Mavi, and more. "We try to carry a
full range of jeans from a $54 pair of
Levis Engineered to a $179 Red
line," Pollart said. "The Levis Red
has made a huge splash in Cherry Creek-- it's a
forward line and the people here understand it."
Sunshine spreads a new light across the Cherry
Creek North scene, and prides itself on a good
selection with a clear understanding of its labels.
The store equips shoppers with a fresh look and is
also exceptionally fluent in the language of denim.
"The brand Mavi is the super low jean that has
become famous for its talking belly button commercials,"
Pollart explained. "Mavi also means
'blue' in Turkish, which could be very important in
the event that you might ever be engaged in a game
of Mavi trivia."
