Volume 3, Issue 21
I began work on this issue of Go-Go with a certain amount of unrestrained excitement-- kind of like the excitement a little kid has when the circus rolls into town or when the trailer for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone runs. It's also the kind of excitement that accompanies change. I've always been a firm proponent of change-- it's a healthy thing that keeps those of us who write for a living sharp and non-complacent. For those of you who read our publication the changes are subtle and done in the same spirit that you have come to expect from us. But for those of you who are new to our publication you'll see some stories that represent some of the best events (and best kept secrets) that are happening around town. Check out Sean Weaver's preview of the Colorado Ballet's production of Dracula. Or flip to our expanded movie section and read about Denver director Frank Rich's independent film Modern Drunkard. And if it's a little dining you're in the mood for but you don't know where to go, our Tattooed Food Critic Bobby Black can point you in the right direction. And for something different, Go-Go begins a regular section called Portfolio-- where we will feature the work of a local artist or photographer. This month's Portfolio is longtime Denver photographer and artist, Mark Sink. Putting out a publication like Go-Go is a collaborative effort. I'd like to thank all the staff of Go-Go for pulling together in this time of transition and welcoming me into the family. --Matthew Davis |
